IMPORTANCE POINT FOR 2nd International Conference for Social Sciences and Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Padang
Dear all participants,
Selamat datang, on behalf of the committee, we welcome you at our conference.
The conference will start on Monday, 5 November 2018 (Gala dinner at 7.00 pm-10.30 pm at Gubernuran Pemprov Sumbar) and opening ceremony start from 08.30 am on Tuesday, 6 November). Please prepare yourself before presenting your paper (on Wednesday, 7 November 2018) such as PPT of presentation. Let us know if you need more information. Don't forget, the venue is at Auditorium UNP. If you are still confused with the building, you could ask to the security officer around the campus.
Please find these some important notes:
1. International conference fee or Payment can be paid on the spot on Tuesday, 6 November 2018
2. For presenters please submit your PPT from now until on Tuesday, 6 November 2018
3. The presentation schedule specifically will inform on Tuesday, 6 November 2018
4. Tour registration starting from now until Tuesday, 6 November 20 18
5. Publication Preference will registered on Tuesday 6 November 2018, presenters have options as follows:
a. IOP Conference Series Proceeding (Scopus); with additional payment
b. PERTANIKA Journal (Scopus Q2), University Putra Malaysia (by selection) with additional payment
c. JGI, Journal of Governance and Integrity, University Malaysia Pahang (by selection)
d. Journals at Faculty of Social Sciences UNP (J-TRAP, SOCIUS, GEOGRAFI, JESS,
JMCE, SJDGGE, Tingkap, Diakronika etc.

Social scientists have a high responsibility in their professions. They do not only play an important role in maintaining their neutrality but also actively involve in advancing their nations and humanitarian civilization globally, as Hans Antlov suggested inHadiz and Dhakidae’sSocial Science and Power in Indonesia:
”The failure of authoritarian nation-building project in Indonesia cannot be separated from the role of social sciences. The contribution of social scientists, such as to analyze social structure, power relation and state institution, are closely related to the growth of democracy. Furthermore, scholars and researchers starting to oppose the Indonesian system by voicing their right to be free from state ideology. They realized that only as outsiders from power relation, the social scientists can freely scrutinize political, social and economic process in Indonesian government system. As a result they can contribute to establish democratic and diverse society..” (Hadiz and Dhakidae, 2006:xx).
